Fred G. Acosta Job Corps Center

An Effective Practice

Description

The Fred G. Acosta Job Corps Center offers young adults vocational and academic training in a supportive and safe environment, completely free of charge. It is a full-time, year-round program providing a wide array of skills training, education and support services including housing, meals, medical care, and career counseling. A variety of course offerings, including basic education leading to a GED or high school diploma, vocational training in eight skill areas, basic computer skills, basic employment skills, health and wellness education, and training in cultural diversity, are available. Through the Career development Services System (CDSS), trainees are supported as they move through our program, ensuring success at every stage of training from admissions through job placement.
