Engaging in community is the essence of democracy, inclusion, social responsibility and stewardship for the future of the community.

Civic responsibility includes having the ability to effectively participate in the governing process; whereas the diversity of elected or appointed policy-makers and staff demonstrates that government is representative of and responsive to our citizens.

 

Access to affordable and reliable modes of transportation, plus alternative and active transit indicates an effective transportation system with a diversity of options critical to our economy, traffic congestion, and environment.  

Planning and community development across sectors including active lifestyles, diverse types of recreation and neighborhood livability, proactively promote health communities while providing the natural benefits of flood control, purifying air and water, and cooling the region.
