The rate of adult gerontological/geriatric advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) focusing on the care and treatment of older adults to end of life.
Why is this important?
There are a growing number of complex health issues specific to older adults including behaviors, social and economic factors, physical environment, and clinical care. Gerontology is the study of this aging process. Geriatric focused nurse practitioners specialize in this care and treatment helping not only their patients, but family members and caregivers.
