Employment-to-Population Ratio

Measurement Period: 2024

Total employed as a percentage of the civilian labor force age 16 or older.

Why is this important?

The Employment-to-Population Ratio is an alternative measure to the unemployment rate, capturing the unemployed who leave the labor market over time.  The duration of decline overtime is an indication of job growth.  As the ratio approaches 1 for those employed to the labor force, the unavailability of skilled labor becomes more of an issue.
